Without Rain, There Is No Growth // 1 of 1
Without Rain, There Is No Growth // Printed on A1 300gsm "23.39" x 33.11" Handmade Japanese Awagami Washi Art Paper. Created for our "It Rains in Paradise" exhibition.
Rain is a necessary element for growth in the natural world. Over billions of years, the rain has created our oceans, creating a vast and abundant habitat for many different life forms; even the largest tree in the world began growing from a single drop. As humans, our connection to rain often carries feelings of discomfort and darkness, yet our existence depends on it.
It is commonly said that growth occurs during uncomfortable times in life. While the human connection with rain is not always appreciated, it provides a way of thinking that allows us to connect with nature on a deeper level. We must weather life with the same mindset we weather the rain; growing from the imminent storms placed in our path.

Awagami Papermill is located in Yoshinogawa village (on Shikoku Island, Japan) where mountains and rivers provide the fiber & water necessary for washi papermaking.
Since antiquity, Japanese washi has been made from renewable plant resources that grow to maturity in 1-2 years. When compared to wood-based papers (that take dozens of years to mature and require many chemicals), washi is created with significantly less harm to our environment in a clean and eco-friendly manner. In the traditional spirit of Japan, Awagami papermaking maintains a caring and nurturing focus on the environment.
For over 8 generations of family papermaking, Awagami papers are crafted exclusively at the Tokushima mill. These papers are made with natural fibers to yield sheets with an expressive surface, quality craftsmanship, and unique character. Awagami papers are acid-free, made with respect and care for the environment and suitable for professional artists & students alike.
Limited to 1 of 1. Stamped for Authenticity.
